Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni signed off IPL 2025 campaign with a massive 83-run win against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The win, was however, not enough for the franchise to lift off the bottom of the table as it finished behind ninth-placed Rajasthan Royals on Net Run Rate.

Five-time IPL winner, Dhoni, had taken over the leadership role once again midway through the season after permanent captain Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an injury and was ruled out of the tournament.

With Dhoni not getting to bat against the Titans, he ended the 2025 season with a batting tally of 196 runs from 13 innings at a strike rate of 135.17. He struck 12 fours and 12 sixes in the season, while striking at 151.72 in the death overs.

The 43-year-old's best score in the tournament was 30 not out, which he reached twice, against Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Dhoni’s best batting outing though came against Lucknow Super Giants, when he scored a match-winning 11-ball 26 in a chase. Batting down the order, he finished as CSK's fifth highest run in IPL 2025.
