Assam CM meets Union Minister for Education, holds talks about new campus of IIM to be operational soon

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday called on Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan and discussed regarding the operationalisation of the upcoming IIM campus in Guwahati.

The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to operationalise the IIM campus when he met the latter at his official residence here on Thursday.

The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that steps would be taken in right earnest to make the new IIM campus fully operational.

Pradhan discussed with Sarma about ways to equip the population of Assam with world class education.

The Union Minister also appreciated the vigorous efforts of the Chief Minister for implementation of NEP 2020.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Principal Secretary, Dr.KK Dwivedi and Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, Kavitha Padmanabhan.

Later taking to X (formerly Twitter) the Chief Minister wrote, "Guwahati will soon be one of the few cities in India that is home to IIT, AIIMS and now IIM.

Today during my meeting with Hon’ble Minister Shri @dpradhanbjp Ji we discussed timelines to operationalise the new IIM campus in the city."

Union Minister Pradhan also took to the micro blogging site X, "Delightful meeting with Hon’ble CM Assam, Shri @himantabiswa in Delhi today evening.
