Under the direction of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a five-member party delegation will visit Jammu and Kashmir’s border regions—Srinagar, Poonch, and Rajouri—from May 21 to May 23, 2025.

The delegation includes senior AITC leaders Derek O'Brien, Md Nadimul Haque, Manas Ranjan Bhunia, Sagarika Ghose, and Mamata Thakur.

In an official statement, the party said the purpose of the visit is "to express solidarity with the people affected by cross-border attacks, and share the grief of the families who have lost their loved ones." The visit follows recent incidents of violence in the region, prompting nationwide concern.

The move comes after seven all-party delegations were announced to brief stakeholders globally. Banerjee has claimed her party was not informed about this initiative, stating that the AITC was excluded from the coordination process.

In response, the party has taken an independent initiative to reach out to the affected populations. AITC leaders are expected to meet with local residents, victims' families, and regional authorities during the three-day visit.
