Von der Leyen, Trump agree to meet: EU spokesperson

Rome, Apr 26, 2025 -European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump agreed to meet again after talking at Pope Francis's funeral at the Vatican, an EU spokesperson said on Saturday.

"In their brief exchange, President von der Leyen and President Trump agreed to meet," Commission spokesperson Paula Pinha said without giving a precise date, as world leaders conduct a flurry of diplomacy on the sidelines of the late Argentine pontiff's last rites.
