MUMBAI: Former chief vigilance commissioner Pratyush Sinha will head Sebi's high-level committee on conflict of interest and disclosures of board members of the regulatory body.

Injeti Srinivas, former secretary of the corporate affairs ministry, has been appointed as the vice chairman of the six-member panel.

The other members of the committee are Uday Kotak, founder and director of Kotak Mahindra Bank; G Mahalingam, former Sebi whole-time member; Sarit Jafa, former deputy comptroller and auditor general; and R Narayanaswamy, former professor at IIM Bangalore.

"The high-level committee shall comprehensively review and make recommendations for enhancing the existing framework for managing conflicts of interest, disclosures and related matters towards ensuring the high standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct of members and officials of the board," Sebi said in a statement on Wednesday.

The panel is expected to submit its recommendations within three months from the date of constitution, which would then be placed before the Sebi board, it said.
