In the photo, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan sported big grins as they posed together. Varun looked dapper in a white shirt. Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra both opted for black outfits. Notably, Alia Bhatt was not present in the photo.The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director shared the photo on Instagram Stories with the caption, “Favourites Forever!!!”

With the 2012 romantic drama, Karan Johar launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The songs and the performances of the lead actors made the movie a hit. The film was directed by Johar himself.
In 2019, Johar’s Dharma Productions attempted to replicate the movie’s success with Student of the Year 2. The film starred Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Anana Panday as three students caught in a love triangle.
Now, the franchise is heading to OTT as a web series. According to Filmfare, Karan Johar is backing Student Of The Year 3. The series will star Shanaya Kapoor as the main character.
Karan Johar’s on his next project
While both Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra are busy with their upcoming films, Karan Johar is also working on something new. The director-producer recently posted on Instagram that Dharma Productions will be working with their 24th debutant director. The My Name Is Khan director said that the project was one of Dharma’s "proudest films.” He also hit back at trolls who have accused Johar of promoting nepotism. While Karan Johar did not reveal the name of the project, several fans speculated that the project could be Kesari Chapter 2, which is being backed by Dharma Productions. Starring Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday, the film follows a court case by an Indian lawyer against British officials in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.Others believed that Dharma’s first Punjabi film, Akaal could be the movie mentioned in the post. The film is directed by Gippy Grewal.
Karan Johar will also produce Kartik Aaryan’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The rom-com will be released ahead of Valentine’s Day in 2026.
