Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a historic 50-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their IPL 2025 match at Chepauk on Friday. This was RCB’s first victory at the venue since 2008.

Chasing 197, CSK struggled and managed only 146 for 8 in 20 overs. Rachin Ravindra was the top scorer with 41, while former captain MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 30 off 16 balls. RCB’s bowlers dominated, with Josh Hazlewood taking 3 wickets for 21 runs, Yash Dayal picking up 2 for 18, and Liam Livingstone grabbing 2 for 28.

RCB posts 196 after strong start

Earlier, RCB put up 196 for 7 after being asked to bat first. Captain Rajat Patidar led with 51 off 32 balls. Opener Philip Salt scored 32 off 16 balls, Virat Kohli contributed 31 off 30 balls, and Tim David’s quick 22 off 8 balls helped RCB finish strongly.


For CSK, Noor Ahmad was the best bowler with 3 wickets for 36 runs, while Matheesha Pathirana (2/36), Ravichandran Ashwin (1/22), and Khaleel Ahmed (1/28) chipped in.
