Justin Trudeau’s royal visit
Before the visit, Trudeau had interacted with the media about the meet. The Canadian PM had said that he would discuss matters that were important to his nation and people, as per Global News. Talking about what weighed the most on people’s minds, the leader said, “I can tell you that nothing seems more important to Canadians right now than standing up for our sovereignty and our independence as a nation.”Many took this to be a jibe at US President Donald Trump’s comments on Canada. The Republican leader has frequently called the US’ northern neighbour as its “51st state,” leading to a low point in relations between Washington and Ottawa.
