DJ Aqeel breaks silence about ex sis-in-law Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan's separation

DJ Aqeel is a famous DJ and composer who was also the owner of nightclubs in Mumbai, Delhi and Ludhiana. The famous musician was once married to Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife, Sussanne Khan’s elder sister, Farah Khan. The couple were together for about 18 years before they got separated. Now, in a recent interview, he discussed his separation and also talked about sister-in-law, Sussanne Khan’s divorce from the actor.

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on YouTube, DJ Aqeel opened up about his relationship with his ex-wife, Farah Khan Ali, describing her as an incredible person who appreciated his music. Reflecting on their separation, he revealed that their marriage ended primarily due to differences stemming from his lifestyle. The couple shared 18 years together, including two years of dating and a year-long engagement before tying the knot. Aqeel also recalled his first meeting with Farah’s father, veteran actor Sanjay Khan, where he received a warm reception while wearing a kurta. Sanjay had no objections to their relationship, fully supporting the couple because of his daughter’s love for Aqeel.

Aqeel further discussed their separation, revealing that he and Farah never directly addressed the topic. Despite living under the same roof for an extended period during their separation, they eventually chose to part ways without any major conflict or dramatic events. Their decision to divorce was mutual and natural.


During the conversation, Aqeel also mentioned that, coincidentally, Sussanne Khan was experiencing her separation from Hrithik Roshan around the same time. Though Aqeel remained in contact with Hrithik, he shared that his bond was stronger with Sussanne. Despite both couples navigating similar life challenges, they never discussed their personal issues with each other, respecting the privacy of their individual situations.

About Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan

On December 20, 2000, Hrithik Roshan married Sussanne Khan in an intimate ceremony held in Bangalore. Although they came from different religious backgrounds, with Roshan being Hindu and Khan being Muslim, he deeply respected her faith. The couple welcomed two sons, Hrehaan in 2006 and Hridhaan in 2008.

Their relationship ended in December 2013, and the divorce was finalized in November 2014. Despite their separation, they maintained a cordial relationship, stating that they parted on good terms.

Rakesh Roshan, speaking during an interview with Yuvaa, shared his perspective on their relationship. He expressed that any “misunderstandings” between them were for the couple to resolve. From his point of view, Sussanne remained an important part of their family, and he continued to regard her as a family member.
