Speaking in an interview with Zee TV ME, Madhavan recounted how he fell for the convincing clip, only realizing it was fake after Anushka Sharma reached out to him.

During the conversation, Madhavan was asked if he had ever been scammed. He revealed that he once came across a video showing Ronaldo seemingly praising Kohli, expressing admiration for his batting skills and legendary status. Believing the video to be genuine, Madhavan proudly shared it on his Instagram account. However, Anushka Sharma soon messaged him, pointing out that the video was AI-generated and not authentic.

Madhavan admitted feeling embarrassed after discovering the truth. The incident served as a wake-up call for him, highlighting the importance of verifying the credibility of content before sharing it. He acknowledged that even someone as tech-savvy as himself could be deceived, emphasizing the need for caution in the age of AI-driven misinformation.
