Oracle boss Larry Ellison, the tech titan who reigned supreme in the pre-internet era, is now making a comeback under Donald Trump.

The Oracle boss is playing a key role in the early days of the Trump administration's second term. Ellison, 80, is involved in discussions about the future of TikTok and the need for more resources for artificial intelligence.

On Wednesday, Ellison appeared at the White House with OpenAI's Sam Altman and SoftBank's Masayoshi Son to discuss AI infrastructure. Former President Trump introduced Ellison, saying, "He's sort of CEO of everything. He's an amazing man."

Following the meeting, Ellison discussed the project. "The data center we already built, it was the largest computer ever built. The data center we're building will surpass it," he said.

Ellison was also involved in earlier discussions about TikTok’s ownership during Trump’s first term. Oracle now stores TikTok's US user data. This arrangement keeps TikTok available for US users, despite a US law and Trump’s previous stance. Oracle is also considered a potential buyer for TikTok's US operations, which face a potential ban. Oracle’s stock price rose after the AI announcement.

Ellison founded Oracle in 1977. The company provides data servers and competes with companies like Microsoft and IBM. Oracle has grown through acquisitions to become a major player in database management. The company is experiencing growth due to the increasing demand for AI and data servers. Ellison has ties to Elon Musk, investing in Twitter and serving on Tesla's board.
