Sam Altman took to social media to dismiss Elon Musk's comments regarding the $500-billion artificial intelligence (AI) project announced by OpenAI in collaboration with SoftBank.

Musk had said earlier in the day that the Stargate Project, an initiative to build AI infrastructure across the US, with Masayoshi Son taking the role of chairman, doesn't have funds. “They don’t actually have the money,” he said in a post on X.

"Wrong, as you surely know. want to come visit the first site already under way? this is great for the country. i realize what is great for the country isn't always what's optimal for your companies, but in your new role i hope you'll mostly put US first," Altman said in a post.

In another post, Altman said to Musk, "i genuinely respect your accomplishments and think you are the most inspiring entrepreneur of our time."
