Vedanta shares in focus as aluminium production jumps 3% YoY in Q3 updates
The company's alumina production for the nine months ending December 31, 2024, rose by 16% to 1,542kt. Vedanta also announced that it achieved record production levels of aluminum, alumina, and zinc in the first nine months of the year.

The company said that it has posted a record production of aluminum, alumina, and zinc in the initial nine months.
Zinc India achieved a new milestone, with refined metal production reaching 783 kt during the nine-month period, marking a 3% YoY increase. Further, Vedanta's Zinc International division witnessed a remarkable 12% YoY and 6% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise in volumes during Q3.
The company reported significant progress in its Oil and Gas (O&G) business, with the ramp-up of volumes from the Jaya discovery contributing to sustained production under the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP).
Vedanta's ferrochrome segment too achieved its best-ever nine-month production at 72 kt, representing a stellar 35% YoY growth.

Mining major Vedanta reported a profit of Rs 5,603 crore for the quarter ended September 2024 as against a loss of Rs 915 crore in the same quarter of last year. Revenue from operations, meanwhile, declined 4% YoY to Rs 37,171 crore in the quarter ended September 2024. The same stood at Rs 38,546 crore a year ago.
In the last year, the shares of Vedanta increased by 73.7% while tumbling by 1.26% in the last 6 months. Vedanta shares have fallen by 10.5% in the last 3 months and by 2.23% in the last month.
The stock of Vedanta closed 1.8% higher at Rs 457.90 on the BSE on Friday.
