New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Vice President Mohammad Hamis Ansari, among others attended the 'Akhand Path' held on Friday at the residence of ex-PM late Manmohan Singh in his memory. Singh's family members, relatives and friends attended the ceremony.

While Rahul Gandhi could not make it as he is in Vietnam, Congress circles also noted the absence of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and the photos of the attendees released by the party didn't show her. While there was no official word for her absence, incidentally, her husband Robert was spotted the same day in Shimla, where the Vadras own another house, triggering talks that family is currently vacationing there. Incidentally, the official mourning period following Singh's death ended on January 1.

A prayer meeting in the memory of Singh was also organised at Delhi's Rakab Ganj Gurudwara by his family with the help of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
