Mohanlal transforms into Kirata, the legendary master of Pashupatastra for Kannappa Movie. First look revealed.

Mohanlal, one of the most celebrated stars in Malayalam cinema, is gearing up for his role in the highly anticipated action drama Kannappa. The film’s makers recently unveiled a character-look poster for Mohanlal, showcasing him as a key figure in the project. Taking the opportunity, actor Vishnu Manchu, who plays the titular role in the film, expressed his excitement about sharing screen space with Mohanlal by referring to it as an “honour” and calling him the “greatest actors of our time”.

Mohanlal’s character in Kannappa is portrayed as the "Master of Pashupatastra," a legendary figure known as the Kirata of the Forest and a victor among victors. In the poster, Mohanlal dons a striking tribal look that bears a resemblance to the appearance of Suriya in the Tamil film Kanguva.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role and is slated for release on April 25, 2025. The film, described as a pan-Indian project, is based on a true story and revolves around themes of bravery and devotion. With an impressive budget reportedly between Rs 100 and Rs 200 crores, the mythological action drama is penned by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G. Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad.
