Savitri Jindal retained the title of India's richest woman and third wealthiest in the country.
"Savitri Jindal, matriarch of steel-to-power conglomerate O.P. Jindal Group, moved up one spot to No. 3 for the first time with $43.7 billion, up $19.7 billion from last year. Her son Sajjan Jindal recently made an ambitious foray into electric vehicles with MG Motor," said the press release.
A newcomer to the list is Mahima Datla at 100th position with networth of $3.3 billion who controls vaccine producer Biological E. The rising star is the managing director of Biological E, a privately held vaccine producer, in which she holds a controlling stake. The Hyderabad-based company's portfolio includes Corbevax, a Covid-19 vaccine developed in partnership with Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
