Stree 2 has enjoyed an extended run at the box office without facing any significant competition for several weeks. Kangana Ranaut's directorial debut, Emergency, originally set for a September 6 release, was postponed due to certification delays. However, beginning Friday, September 13, Stree 2 will face fresh competition from Hansal Mehta's thriller The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor.
Featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi, Stree 2 debuted in theaters on August 15 and captivated audiences. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film sees Rajkummar and Shraddha reprising their roles from the original, continuing the eerie story in the town of Chanderi, now plagued by a new headless menace known as Sarkata. Once again, the townspeople turn to Stree for help. The film also includes several unexpected cameos, such as Varun Dhawan as Bhediya, who shares a special dance number with Shraddha Kapoor.
Stree 2 initially clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu’s 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham’s 'Vedaa', yet it still managed to capture the audience's attention. Produced by Maddock Films, the movie has now become a massive blockbuster.
