The girl had left her home after an altercation with her mother and reached the hospital, where the incident took place. She was found near the hospital canteen on Monday afternoon and taken to the Soorsagar police station, where she revealed the assault.
The police, upon receiving information about the missing girl, searched the hospital and found her near the canteen. She was then taken to the police station for further questioning.
The girl admitted to the police that she had left home after being scolded by her mother on Sunday evening and disclosed after a couple of hours that she had been raped by two individuals in a secluded area within the hospital premises.
"While we had been searching for the girl, we received information that she was present in the canteen of MG hospital. Police rushed to the spot and took her to the police station," said DCP (west) Rajarshi Raj Verma.
Verma added, "On this information, a team rushed to the hospital for spot verification and identification of the accused. We scanned CCTV grabs and found the two accused, who were identified by the girl."
The accused were identified as sanitary workers on a contractual basis at MG Hospital. With the help of the hospital administration, the police cnfirmed their employment status. It was revealed that the accused had lured the girl with food and took her to a solitary place near the prisoners' cell within the hospital premises, where they raped her.
Following the survivor's revelation, the police sent her for a medical examination on Tuesday, which confirmed the rape, and her statement was recorded. The girl's father had lodged a missing complaint on Sunday night, stating that she had been lured by an unidentified person.
'Jungle Raj'
Opposition Congress hit out at the BJP government in the state and claimed that there was a 'jungle raj' in Rajasthan.
"The gang rape of a minor girl at Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital of Jodhpur is another example of Rajasthan moving towards 'jungle raj'. Neither the public representatives nor the police in Jodhpur are focussing on law and order, due to which criminals have no fear," Gehlot said on X.
Dotasra said the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated under the BJP rule.
"There is not a single district where crime against women is not happening. Women are not safe. There is no law and order in the state," he told reporters.
