1st song from Rajinikanth’s 170th film ‘Vettaiyan’ to be out soon

Superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up to end 2024 with a bang! The ‘Thalaivar’ will be returning to the big screen with an action extravaganza, ‘Vettaiyan’. The film will reportedly hit the theatres in Dussehra.

Anirudh Ravichander, the music director of the movie, shared an exciting update. Taking to X, he announced that ‘Hunter Vantaar’ the first single of the movie, will be out soon. However, he didn’t divulge the release date.

About ‘Vettaiyan’

‘Vettaiyan’, which was previously known as ‘Thalaivar 170’ is an action drama with superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. It marks the actor’s 170th movie. The film has been helmed by TJ Gnanavel.


The movie will feature an ensemble cast, which includes bigwigs from various industries such as Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, etc. The movie also marks Bachchan Sr’s Kollywood (Tamil) debut.

The ‘Thalaivar’ will reportedly step into the shoes of a retired Muslim police officer who reopens an old case in his quest for justice. The movie has been filmed across multiple locations, including Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, and Mumbai.

A teaser of the movie was released in December 2023. The teaser features Rajinikanth making a grand entrance, donning sunglasses, and carrying a stick while dressed in a brown shirt and pants. He then delivers the line, “When the hunt is on, the prey must fall!"

Filming began in October 2023, taking place intermittently across various locations such as Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The movie features a soundtrack by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by S. R. Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj.

Vettaiyan is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 10, 2024, aligning with the Dussehra festival.
