Inclusive growth should be priority of government: Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Paytm

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, MD, Paytm, says economic growth will be reaching every nook and corner and every village and place and that should be the priority. “That is what I believe the next government should be focused on,” he says.

How has been the overall experience in terms of carrying out your business, the last government performance and the expectations with the upcoming one?
Vijay Shekhar Sharma: I fundamentally believe that in the last 10 years and in the 10 years before that we have come far away from elevation of poverty. I believe, economic growth will be reaching every nook and corner and every village and place and that should be the priority. That is what I believe the next government should be focused on.

Are there any three points or two points or five points that you have done with your responsibility? Have you cast your vote?
Vijay Shekhar Sharma: We are a young nation, so assertiveness is important. We have to have confidence and assertiveness. I think that is a checkbox. And then we have to check whether it is inclusive growth? Everybody has to be part of it. It cannot be just for one or two segments.
