Palantir, Nvidia bring sovereign AI to Nvidia’s complex supply chain

The deployment brings Nvidia’s Nemotron open models into Palantir Foundry and its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP), where they are grounded in Palantir’s Ontology. The companies said the system is designed to improve supply-chain visibility, identify constraints, codify operational expertise and help teams make decisions faster while retaining control over proprietary data.
Nvidia operates a complex global supply chain spanning millions of parts, thousands of suppliers and manufacturing partners. Bringing its rack-scale AI systems into production requires the coordinated availability of compute, memory, networking, power, cooling and mechanical components.

The companies said each Nvidia Vera Rubin rack involves 1.3 million parts, underscoring the scale of the supply-chain challenge as demand for AI infrastructure grows.
The new AI stack will initially support Nvidia’s own operations, beginning with materials allocation decisions that affect how quickly parts move through its supply chain. The system is designed to identify potential constraints earlier, evaluate alternatives and allocate materials based on their impact on end-to-end production.
“Supply chains are the operating system of the physical economy, and AI factories are among the most complex systems ever built,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said. “NVIDIA and Palantir are transforming this vast operational graph into sovereign intelligence — combining NVIDIA Nemotron models with Palantir’s Ontology to reason, plan and orchestrate the journey from wafer to token.”
Palantir said the approach can also be adopted by companies across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, technology and government.
Under the system, companies can post-train Nvidia’s Nemotron open models on their own operational data using Palantir Foundry and AIP. Nvidia’s cuOpt software can then be used for optimisation and scenario planning, allowing teams to model supply constraints, assess trade-offs and understand the impact of allocation decisions.

The AI models can recommend actions, explain trade-offs and flag emerging risks, while supply-chain experts retain control over final decisions, the companies said.
The system is also designed to learn from operational outcomes. Palantir’s Autopilot, integrated with Nvidia’s NeMo AutoModel and NeMo RL libraries, can use recommendations, planner actions and production outcomes to support continued model improvement.
The companies said the deployment is built for sovereign AI environments, allowing organisations to retain control over their data, models and deployment infrastructure. For Nvidia’s supply chain, the system runs on Nvidia reference architectures and the jointly developed Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture.
The companies plan to extend learnings from Nvidia’s deployment to other enterprises looking to build more resilient supply chains across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, automotive and aerospace.
