AI Summit 2026: Sectors such as healthcare, education, deep research and medical sciences will see transformative growth powered by artificial intelligence, Bharti Enterprises Founder and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said on Thursday.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit, Mittal said AI is increasingly becoming integral to business operations and service delivery.

“We can talk about healthcare, education, deep research, medical sciences — all those areas will flourish on the back of this,” he said.

“From our company’s standpoint, AI is becoming a really integral part of how we operate, serve our customers, build our networks and manage our networks.”

Participating in a discussion with Shantanu Narayen, Chairman and CEO of Adobe, Mittal emphasised that AI would also play a critical role in securing citizens and strengthening digital infrastructure.

Narayen highlighted AI’s potential in personalised medicine and education, noting that every student in India can now access the world’s information through digital devices.

"...in terms of the implications, the one is, given the number of people who use AI in India will be greater than anywhere in the world over a few years," Adobe's Narayen said.

He said India is uniquely positioned to shape global conversations around data governance, privacy, security and trust as AI adoption scales rapidly. He also stressed the importance of content authenticity and open standards in AI development, calling for collaboration over control.

“AI should benefit humanity through sharing, not hoarding,” he said, adding that balancing commercial interests with public good would remain an ongoing challenge.

Both leaders expressed confidence that India, with its scale, talent and culture of frugal innovation, is well positioned to lead in the responsible and inclusive deployment of artificial intelligence.
