Coronavirus in Tamil Nadu: Over 2,700 COVID-19 cases linked to Koyambedu market in Chennai

More than 2,700 people traced to Tamil Nadu’s Koyambedu vegetable market have tested positive for the deadly novel coronavirus disease. As many as 35% of all the cases of the viral respiratory illness in the state have been traced back to the 295-acre wholesale market. As many as 2,760 cases of the disease have been linked to ‘super-spreader’ fruits and vegetable market in the state. Total infections in Tamil Nadu as of Thursday morning stood at 9,227, according to the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHW).
