India Lockdown: Many return to Assam

Some migrant workers from Assam are stuck in Kerala and New Delhi. However, a large section of migrants working in different Indian cities of South India, New Delhi and Mumbai have retuned.

GUWAHATI: Some migrant workers from Assam are stuck in Kerala and New Delhi. However, a large section of migrants working in different Indian cities of South India, New Delhi and Mumbai have retuned. Lakhs of students from northeast India study in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, New Delhi and Kolkata and a large number of them have reached home.

Around 700 are stranded near the Assam-Bengal border of Srimapur. State government has announced that it has made arrangements for food and lodging.
