How Samajwadi Party is prepping up for electoral push post Diwali
Behind the scenes
Up until now, though Samajwadi Party appears to be silent on the outside, the inside story brings out a complete different picture. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav is doing the best in his capability to make sure the agenda for UP polls 2022 is well in place and followed ardently by the party workers in front as well as at the grassroot level.
The digital context
On an average, Akhilesh uses the FaceTime app on his iPhone to get in touch with 50 to 60 people. A senior party leader said that the digital work has never stopped. "We are levelling up the digital outreach in a bid to connect booth level workers to the party mains and trying to build a network upon trust and technology."
Akhilesh Yadav has been closely monitoring the works of the BJP govt and does not leave a chance to stand against any mismanagement under the Yogi govt in Uttar Pradesh. He is taking note of the current Covid situation and the migrant workers issue. So, from the Congress’s activism to the Priyanka Gandhi Vadra factor and rising “Brahmin discontent”, Akhilesh is observing and assessing it all.
SP feels that its presence in the state plays the role of major opposition against the BJP-led government. The Akhilesh factor and the party's pro activism has made it believe that it has a good chance at winning UP polls 2022. MLC Sunil Singh Sajan said that " SP is the biggest opposition force in UP."
The party has a strong vote bank in terms of Muslim-Yadav votes. It is also banking upon Brahmin votes this time.
