Former President Pranab Mukherjee critical, on ventilator support

He is admitted to Army's Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi. The hospital had stated that the former president continues to be on ventilator support last evening.

He had undergone a lifesaving emergency surgery for brain clot last Monday.


The 84-year-old long-time political stalwart had also tested positive for Covid prior to the surgery.

Mukherjee had tweeted on Monday that he had tested positive and urged people who had come in contact with him to quarantine themselves.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the Army hospital on Monday evening to check on the former President.
