Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi nominated to Rajya Sabha by President Ram Nath Kovind

The President of India today nominated former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, to the Rajya Sabha (Upper House).In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 80 of the Constitution of India, and on the advice of the Prime Minister, the President of India can nominate 12 members to the Rajya Sabha.
