NEW DELHI: Shares of NMDC Ltd. traded 1.89 per cent up in Thursday's trade at 11:08AM (IST). Around 241,894 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 85.3 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 87.4 and Rs 85.0, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of NMDC Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 139.5 and a 52-week low of Rs 62.0.

The Bailadila iron ore mining projects of NMDC at Chhattisgarh recorded a five per cent increase in production in June this year at 18.61 lakh tonnes, compared to 17.72 lakh tonnes in the same period last year, despite lockdown, the company said on Wednesday.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 3187.34 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, up 6.02 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 3006.38 crore and up 12.52 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 3643.32 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 315.39 crore, down 78.23 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, DIIs held 3.53 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 6.03 per cent and the promoters 69.65 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 7.39 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.95. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
