Stock market update: Bank stocks advance; RBL Bank climbs 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a positive note at 12:30PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of RBL Bank (up 3.01 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.63 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.84 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.81 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 1.81 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While HDFC Bank (down 0.2 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.84 per cent up at 29425.85 around 12:30PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 29.05 points at 12845.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 80.51 points at 43872.2.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Gas Ltd., M&M, Hatsun Agro, Adani Transmission Ltd. and Tanla Solutions hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd. and Deep Energy Resources Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
