Stock market update: Bank stocks advance; ICICI Bank gains 2%

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.58 per cent up at 22228.7.

Out of the 12 stocks in the index, 8 were trading in the green while 4 were trading in the red.
NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a positive note at 12:37PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of ICICI Bank (up 1.58 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 1.09 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.8 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 0.64 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bandhan Bank (down 1.11 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.89 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 0.11 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.58 per cent up at 22228.7 around 12:37PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.50 points at 11500.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 207.65 points at 38964.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of J B Chem, Amber Enterprises India Ltd., APL Apollo Tube, Adani Green Energy Ltd. and Radico Khaitan hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Kuantum Papers Ltd. and Silver Touch Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
