Marico Ltd. shares gain 0.95% as Sensex rises

Sensex and Nifty shed more than 9 per cent last week, and the indices entered bear market territory, and the bottom is not yet in sight.
Shares of Marico Ltd. traded 0.95 per cent up at Rs 354.65 at 01:23PM (IST) on Thursday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex gained 461.26 points to 35875.71. The stock had settled at Rs 351.3 in the previous session.

The stock quoted a 52-week high and 52-week low of Rs 403.7 and Rs 233.8, respectively.

As per BSE data, total traded volume on the counter till 01:23PM (IST) stood at 01:23PM shares with turnover at Rs 3.64 crore.

At the prevailing price, the stock trades at 44.81 times its trailing 12-month earnings per share of Rs 7.91 per share and 15.06 times its price-to-book value, BSE data showed.

A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher share price today because of growth expectations in the future. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.

The Beta value of the stock, which measures its volatility in relation to the broader market, stood at 0.8.

Shareholding Details
Promoters held 59.46 per cent stake in the company as of 31-Mar-2020, while FIIs owned 22.69 per cent and DIIs 3.89 per cent.
