Hello everyone, welcome to this special podcast from ETMarkets.com. I am Tanisha Sharma.

India's consumption story has taken a big blow, with auto sales shrinking to an eight-year low and top FMCG firms like HUL, Dabur and Godrej Consumer reporting slowing growth.

Depressed consumer outlook in anticipation of a political change and global event risks; rural distress because of poor income growth, low crop prices and an uncertain monsoon outlook, and liquidity stress in the consumer financing space have all taken a toll in domestic consumption.

Add to that elusive earnings recovery and global uncertainty, and the Indian market looks like a scary place to be. Or is it?

Our Mumbai bureau chief Ami Shah caught up with Kenneth Andrade, Founder & CIO of Old Bridge Capital and a Dalal Street veteran who has seen many such market cycles in the past. We tried to understand how he reads the current state of the market and where he sees the opportunity for investors.

Over to you, Ami.
