Guar gum futures gain on spot demand

The contracts for delivery in January rose by Rs 87, or 1.46 percent, at Rs 6,038 per five quintal as open interest stood at 18,575 lots.

Guar gum contracts for December delivery traded higher by 1.6 per cent, or Rs 94, to Rs 5,968 per five quintal with an open interest of 38,750 lots.
Guar gum prices on Wednesday gained Rs 94 to Rs 5,968 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for December delivery traded higher by 1.6 per cent, or Rs 94, to Rs 5,968 per five quintal with an open interest of 38,750 lots.

The contracts for delivery in January rose by Rs 87, or 1.46 per cent, at Rs 6,038 per five quintal as open interest stood at 18,575 lots.


Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to the rise in guar gum prices.
