NEW DELHI: Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists.

Red chilli and turmeric prices declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 5,800-11,300 and Rs 6,100-11,100 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks positions mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Ajwain 10,500-17,000, black pepper (per kg) 360-480, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 970-990 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,020-1,150.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 620-720, cardamom (colour robin) 570-670, cardamom bold 620-670, cardamom extra (bold) 770-870 and cloves (kg) 650-770.
