A common misconception is that men don’t like anything too fancy, shiny or glittery. In short, it is often assumed that luxe and men’s gifting don’t go hand-in-hand but this is far from true.

Christian Louboutin, a brand known for its high-end fashionable footwear, is making its return to the sports arena with HAPPYRUI. The designer pays a tribute to the iconic tennis shoe that made fashion history both on and off the courts in the 70s. Boasting of a new specially-developed rubber platform outsole and a singular upper, the HAPPYRUI low-top sneaker is as stylish as it is easy to wear.

From its new metallic CL signature that echoes ‘70s varsity letters to its contrasting toe cap and singular eyelet system, every detail on this low-top sneaker nods to vintage retro style. The HAPPYRUI mixes materials and textures including suede, lamé leather and a shimmering sequin body, whilst some versions also come with signature spike-adorned toe cap.

Rest assured, these shiny pair of kicks from Louboutin is one gift your man will absolutely adore and wear for a long, long time.

When it comes to gifting alcohol, the first thing that comes to our mind often is an expensive bottle of wine or champagne, wrapped neatly with a ribbon. It seems romantic on the surface, but it’s the most forgettable gift you can give your boyfriend. If there’s one drink that most men love, more than wine (or, perhaps, even more than beer) it’s whisky.

The good folks at Glenmorangie have come up with Allta, their first whisky created using wild yeast. Yeast has always been a key ingredient in Scotch whisky. But over the years, its impact on taste has been all-but forgotten and emphasis placed on other aspects of whisky-making instead.

With Allta, Glenmorangie aims to bring back the focus on yeast, one of the most important ingredients in whisky. Rich and fruity single malt, Allta tastes like butter candy, creamy vanilla, orange syrup with slightly yeasty background and gentle mint with the tiniest hint of sweet chilli and delicate, dancing, floral notes and is the V-Day gift your significant other will absolutely adore.

Winters are gradually receding and summers are about to come in, but in the months of February, the nights are as chilly as they come. To keep yourself warm on cold, winter nights, a cognac like Hennessey is just the drink you need.

The best part about Hennessey? It is aged for the greater part in new French oak barrels, which bring a distinctly toasty character to the drink. The highly nuanced cognac combines a generous, fruity nature with notes of brown sugar and crème brûlée.

Hennessy Very Special can be enjoyed on its own, over ice or in a mixed drink. Rest assured, Hennessy is one gift your boyfriend will cherish for a long, long time.
