Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Tab S7 Plus, Z Fold 2, Buds Live & Watch 3 at Galaxy Unpack 2020 event

The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Unpack 2020 event kickstarted in Seoul, South Korea and the tech giant unveiled 5 major products in its line-up - Note 20 Ultra, Tab S7 Plus, Z Fold 2, Buds Live and Watch 3.

To start things off, TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications, Samsung, took the stage. 'I am engineer, so trust me, I love to talk about it (specifications)', said Roh, as he set the stage for exciting new launches.

Mary Lee, Startegy and Partnership, Samsung, unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Note 20 comes with 6.7 inch display while Note 20 Ultra comes with a 6.9 inch display. With a 120 Hz display, the phones are protected by 'toughest glass', as Lee claimed and are powered by fast processors.



'Cameras are an integral part of the smartphone experience', said Lee. The phone comes with a 10MP front camera and a 108MP+12MP+12MP triple rear camera.


The Note 20 comes in over 3 colour variants - Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray and Mystic Green, while Note 20 Ultra comes in two colour variants, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black. The powerful battery ensures 50% charge in 30 minutes.

Also a part of the Samsung ecosystem, is Samsung S Pen, which works like a real pen but 'with the power of so much more'. The 120Hz Infinity-O Display is fast, making pen strokes from the S Pen even more precise, so you can write naturally. Not only that, S Pen features Bluetooth that turns it into a useful wireless controller for your phone. It also allows Screen Write, that is, quickly jot a note on the article you’re reading, or add a little flourish to a photo you’ve found.

The new S-Pen will come with both the new Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Tab S7 series.


Next, Adrian Wilson, Customer Relationship Management, unveiled Galaxy Tab 7 (11 inches) and 7 Plus (12,4 inches). Tab 7 Plus, Wilson claimed, is the 'thinnest tablet in the market' for its size.

It comes in 3 variants - Mystic Bronze, Mystic Silver and Mystic Black. The tablet is powered by The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. The tab comes with a 6GB/8GB RAM to binge-watch and multitask with little lag and 128/256/512GB internal storage.

Samsung has extended partnership with Microsoft to Xbox. The company announced that it will be making games like Minecraft Dungeon, Gears of War and more available on Samsung Galaxy devices via cloud gaming. All of this will be made available using Microsoft's Game Pass Ultimate.


Next up, we have Galaxy Buds Live, 1st open type buds in the Galaxy series, available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic White and Mystic Black colour variants. The buds come with active noise cancellation and cuts low-band background noise by upto 97%. With 3 microphones and a voice pick-up unit, the audio quality on Buds Live is superior as compared to its competitors.


The Buds Live also enhances the video viewing experience and gives an immersive listening experience. The 12mm speakers with sound by AKG work together with Galaxy Buds Live's ergonomic design to deliver spacious sound.

Next up, Galaxy Watch 3 was unveiled. It comes with a shuffle feature that allows you to swap between different watch faces.


With Watch 3, you can check your blood pressure via the Samsung Health Monitor App without regularly needing a cuff. It also has a built-in electrode sensor to measure your heart rhythm. This ECG on the go tests for atrial fibrillation (Afib), then shows your measurements at a glance.

Galaxy Watch3 uses red LED and infrared rays to estimate your SpO2 levels, or the amount of oxygen in your bloodstream. Galaxy Watch3 automatically detects hard falls with its enhanced accelerometer, sending an SOS to your emergency contact with your location.


Galaxy Watch3 records your REM cycles, deep sleep, and total sleep time to score and help improve the quality of your rest. When you get a new text, Galaxy Watch3 shows your chat history so you can effortlessly follow the conversation.

Next, Galaxy Z Fold 2, which comes in Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black variants was unveiled. A cutting-edge smartphone, Z Fold 2 comes with a 6.2 inch screen. More about Galaxy Fold 2 will be revealed on September 1.

Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus will go on sale on August 21. Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will be available in 5G models for which, pre-orders begin on August 6. Galaxy Watch 3 also goes on sale on August 6.


The Galaxy Note 20 5G variant will start at $999 (approximately Rs 74,724) and the Note 20 Ultra 5G will start at $1,299 (approximately Rs 97,100). Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 5G variant starts at $849 (approx Rs 63,554), whereas, the Galaxy Tab S7 starts at $1,049 (approx Rs 78,525). The Samsung Galaxy Watch3 will start at $399 (approx Rs 29,856) and the Galaxy Buds Live will start at $169 (approx Rs 12,645).
