The St. Regis Mumbai hosted a soiree with the ladies’ wing of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry aptly termed ‘Utsahati,’ which means ‘Encourage.’ The celebration felicitated one brave soul, Laxmi Agarwal, who has not only been a survivor, but also a crusader and a role model for women across the globe. Laxmi, who was attacked with acid, rose like a phoenix from the ashes as a survivor and fighter for various causes and initiatives for the victims of acid attacks.

Nayantara Jain, the president of the Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with other members, came together for this elegant afternoon, curated and conceptualised by Arti Gupta Surendranath, the chairperson of the awards committee. The guests of honour were Marshall Goldsmith, the award-winning American author and the inspiring Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, a philanthropist who supports several charities in health care.

The afternoon commenced with a beautiful ‘Alaap’ by Shweta Shetty and blended into an enlightening afternoon of debate. Conversations followed the debate as guests like Sangita Jindal, Vanita Bhandari, Mukhita Zaveri, Krishna Kumari, Ishita Jain, Shreyasi Goenka, Rudra Kapoor, Rachel Wawn Kurien, Prakriti Podar, Jhellum Dehlvi, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Shweta Shalini and Reena Rupani enjoyed the delectable fare of the afternoon tea ritual, which is unique to the St. Regis brand.
