MUMBAI: Domestic airlines are cancelling between 10% and 25% of their flights every day, leading to chaos, confusion and hundreds of disgruntled passengers, most of whom have not even got refunds, industry executives said. This is because airlines are selling tickets for up to one-third of their total flights but are operating only about a fourth of their flights,

result, likely cut its flights to the city from seven a week that it’s currently operating, Kannan said. Some travel executives, though, said the situation is improving. “We get lesser refund queries now than before, and passenger cancellations account for 8%-10% of our total bookings,” said Nishant Pitti, cofounder of travel portal Easemytrip.
