HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund

HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund, an open-ended hybrid scheme that follows the dynamic asset allocation strategy, manages assets worth of Rs 41,471.54 crore as on July 31, 2019. It is the largest scheme in the dynamic asset allocation category. HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund was d by merging HDFC Prudence Fund and HDFC Growth Fund.

The investment objective of the fund is to provide long term capital appreciation/income from a mix of equity and debt investments, according to HDFC Mutual Fund.

“The fund manager in a dynamic asset allocation fund will determine the asset allocation between equity and debt depending on prevailing market and economic conditions. The debt-equity mix at any point of time will be a function of interest rates, equity valuations, medium to long term outlook of the asset classes and risk management, etc," according to HDFC Mutual Fund.

Minimum investment required is Rs 5,000, and minimum additional investment is Rs 1,000. Minimum SIP investment is Rs 500.

HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund is managed by Prashant Jain and Amar Kalkundrikar. Prashant has ben managing the fund since June, 2003. Kalkundrikar manages the overseas assets of the fund. HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund has the option to invest up to 35 per cent of its total assets in investment avenues in overseas financial markets via via ADRs/ GDRs and foreign securities for diversification.

According to HDFC Mutual Fund, investors with a moderately high risk tolerance and want to wealth, seeking long term capital appreciation & income can invest in the scheme with an investment horizon of three years and above.
